Thanksgiving 2020

“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.” -William Arthur Ward

In honor of the season of gratitude and giving, we asked our corporate employees what they are thankful for this year. Please enjoy their answers below.

Ken: The year 2020 has been filled with trials and tribulations for many of us. I am thankful, more than ever, for my VMSI teammates, friends, and family, all of whom have helped ease the burden of these uncertain times and provided unexpected joys, both personal and professional.

Jackie: This year we have been presented with unfathomable challenges, but within those I have found some immeasurable blessings. I am truly grateful for my dear & supportive family and friends, my mother’s continued health, and last but not least, my #VMSIfamily! But most of all, I am thankful for the joy that my goddaughters have inspired in me this past year. They are such bright and special girls that always remind me what matters most!

Paige: I’m thankful for: my twins; the amazing, smart, strong women who work on my team; my dermatologist; my #VMSIFamily; Moo; and fine German engineering…but not necessarily in that order.  😊

Maria: I am thankful that 2020 will soon come to an end and praying that 2021 is a better year! I am thankful we learned how to overcome many challenges with the pandemic and learned new ways to work, shop, socialize and overall stay healthy and safe. I am always thankful to spend quality time with my family and this year more importantly with keeping healthy. I am thankful for VMSI and the opportunities, support and great team of co-workers and lastly, I am thankful for food, water and toilet paper…even if it wasn’t my normal brand. Wishing all a Happy Thanksgiving!

Heather: First and foremost, I’m thankful that my family has remained healthy and safe throughout the year. Additionally, I’m thankful for our first responders and frontline workers who have selflessly continue put themselves in harms way to protect and care for us. As a parent, I’m incredibly thankful for our educators, who have gone above and beyond to continue finding ways to teach despite the many obstacles. This year has had its share of struggles, but it’s also given us an opportunity to reevaluate priorities and remind us of what is truly important, which is something in itself to be thankful for. May you and yours have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

Laura: This has been a weird year and I have found so many things to be thankful for. I’m thankful for my health and the health of my family and friends. I’m thankful for paper products, such as toilet paper and paper towels, the importance of which I didn’t realize until they were sold out everywhere. I’m thankful for my #VMSIFamily, who lightened the mood during some trying times. I’m thankful for my son, who always gives me a greater purpose. I’m thankful for caffeine and the clarity it provides me. I’m very thankful that this year is almost over and next year is already shaping up to be better for me.

Kirsten: This year I’m thankful for the health and safety of myself and my family. I’m thankful for my job at VMSI, working with a group of fantastic, hardworking, dedicated individuals who make me laugh harder than most. I’m grateful that despite the challenges this year has brought, that the I have made it through with the love of my family and friends supporting me. Lastly, I’m thankful for yummy food and a good cup of coffee to keep me going during the day.

Kiana: I am thankful for toilet paper and paper towels because at one point in this year people decided these items were more important than food. 😊 I am also thankful for the wellbeing of my family and friends during a pandemic in which so many lives were lost.

Ashley: I’m thankful for the new opportunities provided by VMSI & the company culture. I am also thankful for all the new people I’ve met; but, most importantly, I’m truly thankful for all the support from my family & friends.

The #VMSIFamily would like to wish all of our friends and colleagues a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
