On Saturday June 4th, musical genres, fans from all walks of life, and most importantly supporters of our nation’s military converged to shine a light on Invisible Wound, a local organization whose purpose is to empower those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and raise awareness on the frightening statistic that 22 Veterans PER DAY take their own lives.

VMSI proudly sponsored the event, which was coordinated by our own Dan Cunningham, and featured his band, BackBlast, among those who rocked The Auld Shebeen in Fairfax that night. The $2,400 that was raised from ticket sales and raffles will go directly to  Invisible Wound to aid in their efforts to support, rehabilitate, and raise awareness for our nation’s heroes who have sacrificed so much, and fight daily with the emotional and psychological scars of PTSD.

Crash The Great delivering a moving performance.

Through projects such as Battle Buddies (providing companion and therapy dogs), “Bridging the Gap” (integrative and intensive retreats for service members and their family/care givers), and Project 22 (raising awareness of the 22 veterans who commit suicide daily), Invisible Wound is tirelessly committed to finding new ways to spread hope and healing.

We’d like to thank The Auld Shebeen for hosting this fantastic event, BackBlast, Crash the Great, Crucify the Hopeless, 180 Out, Reality Check, and Fire in Elysium for rocking the house for an amazing cause, and all those who came out in a show of support. Each and every one of us has the ability to make a positive difference. To find out how to get involved with Invisible Wound, visit www. invisiblewound.org.
